Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Scoranza ("we", "us", "our") and govern your access to and use of the Scoranza mobile application and any related websites and services (together, the "App"). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance & eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms on your behalf and agrees to them. The App is offered primarily to users in the Middle East, North Africa, and select European and global markets where it is lawful to do so. You may not use the App if doing so is prohibited under the laws of your country, or if you are located in a country subject to a comprehensive embargo by Saudi Arabia, the United Nations, or other applicable authorities.

2. Your account

• Sign-in: accounts are created by signing in with a Google account through Firebase Authentication.
• Accuracy: the information you provide (display name, fan nickname, country, favourite team) must be accurate and not misleading.
• One account per person: you may hold only one Scoranza account. Creating multiple accounts to gain coins, manipulate leaderboards, or circumvent suspension is prohibited and will result in suspension of all related accounts and forfeiture of associated coins.
• Account security: you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the Google account used to sign in and for all activity that occurs under your Scoranza account.
• No sharing or selling: you may not sell, lease, gift, or transfer your account, your in-app coins, or any account credentials to any third party.
• Notify us at support@scoranza.com immediately of any unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

• Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purpose.
• Cheat, exploit bugs, manipulate predictions or challenges, or use any automation, bots, scripts, modified clients, emulators-for-abuse, or other tools to gain an advantage.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
• Scrape, copy, harvest, or mirror match data, user data, leaderboards, or any other content from the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App, our servers, our networks, or the App Check / Play Integrity attestation.
• Create multiple accounts, share challenge invites with sock-puppets, or coordinate with other users to artificially inflate stats, win challenges, or drain another user's coins.
• Submit usernames, fan nicknames, or profile content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, defamatory, infringing, deceptive (e.g., impersonating another person, brand, or official entity), or that contains personal contact details.
• Use the App to harass, threaten, intimidate, or stalk other users.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network connected to the App without prior written permission.
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any part of the App or its content.

We may, in our reasonable discretion, remove content, reset stats, revoke coins, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts that violate these rules. Decisions on cheating and abuse are made server-side based on telemetry, App Check signals, and manual review.

4. Predictions, challenges & game mechanics

• Source of truth: match results, lineups, scorers, and other sporting data are sourced from third-party data providers (currently API-Football). Resolution of predictions, challenges, and World Cup picks is performed server-side using that data.
• Data corrections: if a third-party data provider issues a correction (e.g., an own-goal reattribution, a result reversal by a governing body, or a fixture cancellation), we may retroactively adjust points, coin balances, and challenge outcomes to reflect the corrected data. We will use reasonable efforts to do so promptly.
• Outages & data gaps: we are not liable for missed kickoff alerts, delayed score updates, or unresolved challenges caused by upstream data outages, push-notification delays, or device/network conditions outside our control.
• No real-money wagering: the App is a skill-based prediction game. No real-money prizes, payouts, or cash-equivalent rewards are offered. Challenges between users involve a fixed coin entry fee that is consumed by the system, not paid out to the winner. The winner receives bragging rights and statistical credit only.
• Booster & reward rules: the App's mechanics (daily missions, login streaks, World Cup boosters, coin rewards) may change over time. We may add, remove, or adjust mechanics, point formulas, and reward amounts at any time, including retroactively for ongoing seasons or tournaments where necessary to maintain balance or address abuse.

5. Virtual coins

"Coins" are a virtual, in-app currency used to enter challenges and unlock cosmetic items. Coins are earned through gameplay (predictions, daily missions, login streaks, rewarded ads, and similar in-app rewards). The App does not offer in-app purchases, and coins cannot be bought with real money.

• No monetary value: coins are not real money, are not legal tender, and have no monetary value outside the App.
• Non-transferable: coins cannot be transferred to other users in any form constituting a withdrawal, redeemed for cash, or exchanged for goods or services outside the App.
• Limited licence: when you obtain coins, you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them within the App, subject to these Terms. You do not own the coins; we retain all rights to the underlying virtual currency system.
• Non-refundable: coins are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other consideration.
• Revocable for fraud or abuse: we may revoke, reduce, or freeze a coin balance if we reasonably believe the coins were obtained or used through cheating, exploitation of bugs, multi-accounting, or any other violation of these Terms.
• Forfeit on account closure: all coins are permanently forfeited when an account is deleted by you or terminated by us. No compensation is owed.
• Service changes & discontinuation: we may modify the rate at which coins can be earned, the cost of in-app items, or the coin economy generally at any time. If we discontinue the App or the coin economy, no compensation is owed for unused coins.

6. User content

You are responsible for any content you submit through the App, including your chosen username, fan nickname, profile selections, and any text you enter into challenge invitations or support requests ("User Content").

By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable licence to host, store, display, reproduce, and adapt that User Content solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the App. This licence ends when you remove the User Content or close your account, except for content already shown to other users (e.g., a username on a completed challenge), which may remain visible in their match histories with your username replaced by an anonymous placeholder after deletion.

We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, remove or modify User Content that violates these Terms, infringes third-party rights, or is otherwise objectionable.

7. Third-party data, logos & trademarks

Scoranza is an independent fan application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FIFA, UEFA, the AFC, CAF, the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, the Saudi Pro League, any other football governing body, or any individual football club. All team names, league names, competition names, crests, kits, and player names referenced in the App are the property of their respective owners and are used for editorial, descriptive, and informational purposes only.

Match data is sourced from third-party providers (currently API-Football / api-sports.io) under our licence with them. You may not extract, reuse, or redistribute that data outside the App.

If you are a rights holder and believe your trademark, crest, or other intellectual property is being used in the App in a manner that you do not authorise, contact support@scoranza.com with the subject line "IP takedown". We will review and act on legitimate requests promptly.

8. Advertising

The App is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob, including banner, interstitial, native, app-open, and rewarded video ads. Advertising is necessary to keep the App free to use. We do not guarantee that any specific ad will be available at any specific time, and rewarded-ad rewards depend on completion of the underlying ad as reported by AdMob. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

Personalisation of ads is governed by your consent (in the EEA/UK, via Google's User Messaging Platform) and your OS-level Ads Personalisation setting. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Privacy

Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described there.

10. Termination & suspension

• By you: you may delete your account at any time from Menu → Delete Account in the App, or by following the alternative paths in the Privacy Policy. Deletion is permanent. All coins and unfinished challenges are forfeited.
• By us: we may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms; engaged in fraud, cheating, or abuse; harmed other users or the integrity of the App; or if we are required to do so by law.
• Effect of termination: on termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 16) will survive.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of data, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, security, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that match data, predictions resolution, or notifications will be accurate, timely, or uninterrupted, or that the App will be free of bugs, defects, or downtime.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions, the disclaimers in this section apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Scoranza, its operators, contractors, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the App.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the App is limited to one hundred US dollars (US $100).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Scoranza, its operators, contractors, and licensors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your User Content; (c) your breach of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the App are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The competent courts of Riyadh shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may bring proceedings to enforce our intellectual-property or App-integrity rights in any jurisdiction where infringement occurs.

Informal resolution first: before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at support@scoranza.com with a written description of the dispute and to attempt in good faith to resolve it informally for at least 30 days.

Mandatory consumer-protection rights: if you are a consumer residing in a jurisdiction whose mandatory laws grant you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts or under your local consumer-protection laws, nothing in this section deprives you of those rights.

15. Force majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms caused by events outside our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, government actions, labour disputes, internet or telecommunications outages, third-party platform failures (Google Play, Firebase, AdMob, API-Football), or pandemics.

16. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement: these Terms together with the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Scoranza regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements.
• Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
• No waiver: our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment: you may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• No third-party beneficiaries.
• Electronic notices: we may give notice by in-app banner, push notification, or email to the address associated with your Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping that address current.
• Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
• Language: these Terms are provided in English and Arabic. In the event of any conflict, the English version prevails for interpretation purposes, except where mandatory local law requires otherwise.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes (for example, changes to liability, dispute resolution, or the coin economy) will be announced via an in-app notification or banner before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App and may delete your account.
